Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is an Irish actress and model. Her debut came in a Bond film, A View to a Kill in 1985. In 1989 she played Nazi-sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Siobhan Donavan played the role in A Prayer for the Dying in 1987. Charlotte was in Taffin (in 1998) and Rebecca Flannery played Major League II. Doody started modelling when she was approached. The outcome proved to be an extremely lucrative profession. Doody was very determined not to do the glamorous work or doing nude. This rule extended into Doody's acting work. After catching the eye of the director of casting in the upcoming James Bond movie, she participated in A View to a Kill as Jenny Flex. Doody performed the role of Sapsorrow in the episode of Jim Henson's fantasy show The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The actress starred alongside Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Elsa Schneider, an Austrian Nazi sympathiser and a archaeologist for forensics in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. It also featured Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody has acted alongside three actors that have played James Bond. In 1991 Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publishing fraud known as the Hitler Diaries. Later, she relocated to Hollywood. She played Flannery in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. Doody, who had been away from acting for almost 10 years, came back in 2003 to take on a tiny role on the British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine played her in a scene during the ceremony for awards. In 2004, she appeared in a film with Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She also appeared as a character in Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 publication about the Holocaust. Doody filmed a role in the film of Danny Dyer, The Rapture. She was also scheduled to take on the role of lead on The Asphyx remake, but that project fell through. Her first two seasons on Beaver Falls, the E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she appeared as Pam Jefferson in We Still Kill the Old Way. In November she received the Almeria tierra de Cine Award and received a Star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
