Steve Aoki
Steve Aoki was created in Miami, Florida
on the 30th November 1977. American electro house music producer D.J., and
record producer Steve Aoki is his stage name. Music executive. He is the third
child of Chizuru Kobayashi and Rocky Aoki. His father was a former wrestler and
also the founder of the restaurant chain Benihana. There are two of his older
siblings: sister Kana (who can be referred to by her middle name Grace)
& brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi restaurant). Half-sister Devon
Aoki is a model and actress. He was born in Newport Beach and graduated from
Newport Harbor High School with a 1995 B.A. in badminton. After having
graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree, he attended UC
Santa Barbara. He earned two bachelor's degrees, one in feminist studies, and
the other in Sociology. He recorded DIY music and ran underground concerts from
his Biko room in the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative during his time
at college. For its use as a venue for concerts, the room became known as The
Pickle Patch. He was active with student activism and created the Revolutionary
Anti-Imperialist League section on campus. At the age of 20, he was
establishing his own label, that was named Dim Mak. It was a reference to the
idol of his youth Bruce Lee. The band released I'm In the House in March 2010
in collaboration with Zuper Blahq his alter-ego will.i.am from the Black Eyed
Peas. The song charted at the top of the charts at No. The track was ranked the
position of No. 29 on the U.K. Singles Chart within the first week of its the
release. The song climbed into the top five on both the U.K. Indie Chart and
the U.K. Dance Chart. The song was featured in an episode of MTV's Jersey Shore
as well as in the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man.
Producer-songwriter Lucas Secon confirmed in a May 2010 interview w/
HitQuarters, that he and Rivers Cuomo had recently worked together with Aoki on
a single. He was named the highest-grossing dancer from North America by
Pollstar in 2012. His collaborations with artists include Afrojack, LMFAO and
Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS, Louis
Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vici and Fall Out Boy. The artist is known for
his remixes with artists like Kid Cudi.
